Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and can shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home using a combined gross household income that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined house money will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not post any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the proper Id Doc numbers, names, here and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or plan to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students click here who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not click here have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
